Workplace Harassment
Bullying, Sexual Harassment, Inappropriate Use of Authority
20 Years of Standing Up for People Who Deserve Better
With over 20 years as a social worker in some of the most demanding environments, I managed high workloads and violent, high-risk situations where decisions directly impacted the safety and futures of children and families. I conducted Criminal Code and child protection investigations, assessed risk, and navigated deeply sensitive matters where the stakes were never abstract. Someone's well-being was always on the line.
In 2005, I was designated by the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia as an expert in assessing risk to children. I also supervised one of the busiest social work offices in the province, addressing a wide range of complex issues including neglect, physical abuse, sexual harm, domestic violence, poverty, and many other social challenges.
Throughout my career, I have been guided by one principle: protecting the most vulnerable. Today, that commitment extends into workplace environments, supporting individuals facing harassment, misconduct, or toxic cultures while also helping organizations as a whole, including both employees and employers, create healthier, more resilient workplaces. Everyone deserves to be heard, taken seriously, and treated with dignity in a work environment that is safe and respectful. I work to resolve conflict, restore trust, and strengthen systems so workplaces can function with accountability.
I did not learn about workplace issues from a textbook. I lived them. During my career as a social worker, I experienced workplace harassment and violence firsthand, the kind that makes you question your worth, your judgment, and whether anyone in a position of authority truly cares. The catastrophic events followed me home, and that should have triggered organizational support and accountability. Instead, I witnessed colleagues and systems look the other way, and I was punished for speaking up and protecting myself. I know what it feels like to be in a room where your voice doesn't count.
These experiences shaped me and gave me a purpose that no certification alone could ever provide. I plan to be the change I once needed, supporting both employees and organizations by doing right by the hardworking people who keep workplaces moving.
My intention is to offer others the support I never received. I investigate without bias, mediate to create genuinely safe spaces, and do not flinch when the findings are uncomfortable.
You deserve better. I deserved better. Our families deserved better.
My healing journey taught me that we can do better. Throughout 2023 and 2024, I invested significant time and financial resources into completing highly regarded programs through Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School Online, Queen's IRC, Hill Advisory, and the Sanctuary Institute, not to collect credentials, but to ensure I have the sharpest tools available to do this work properly.
My former employer relied on a one-size-fits-all approach to wellness and safety concerns, often deflecting issues to a remote employee assistance program. That approach was not only ineffective, it felt manufactured and caused harm. Working through that experience helped me understand that meaningful workplace responses begin with genuine safety, where staff feel secure to share their experiences without fear of repercussions.
Organizations that provide true psychological safety see less sick time, increased loyalty and productivity, and reduced workers' compensation claims. My lived experience gave me invaluable insight, and my recent education provided the practical skills to help organizations better navigate complex, emotionally charged situations, ensuring employees receive the care and consideration they deserve.
I have a Certification of Specialization in Leadership and Management from the Harvard Business School Online.

My healing journey led me to invest deeply in education. I pursued certifications from Harvard Business School, Harvard Law School, and Queen's University IRC, not to collect credentials, but because I needed the sharpest tools available to do this work properly. Every course I have taken was chosen to strengthen my ability to investigate with precision, mediate with skill, and advise with confidence.
Safe spaces start when workplace issues are addressed in a meaningful manner and staff feel secure to share their experiences and concerns without repercussions.
