Resolve Disputes. Rebuild Relationships. Move Forward.

Mediation is a voluntary, cost-effective alternative to the court process. Being trapped in conflict can victimize the parties, and prolonged stalemates can result in financial and emotional ruin. I help parties move through their challenges, find solutions, and break free from the conflict trap.

What Is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary alternative to litigation and the court process, and can save you money, time, and emotional energy. Being trapped in conflict can victimize the parties, and prolonged stalemates can result in financial ruin. Facing conflict through mediation can help parties move through their challenges, find solutions, come to a resolution, and move away from the conflict trap that litigation often causes.

Mediators help identify a variety of real alternatives for parties to resolve their disputes and come to a binding agreement. Mediators help find solutions versus a judge giving an order. Mediation is not appropriate if the parties are not consenting to the service.

The power in mediation is that the parties are driving the bus toward the solution. It can take as long as needed, based on your schedule, not the availability of the courtroom, and without delays or adjournments that create added stress. Parties are active participants in the outcomes rather than being told what to do in a courtroom, and that can be very powerful and healing.

Oftentimes, people in a courtroom feel unheard, and the outcomes are never guaranteed. Lawyers can provide advice, but outcomes are not guaranteed. I am a certified mediator qualified to mediate any dispute, and mediation can occur at any stage before or during litigation. I received my certification from Harvard Law School.

Workplace Mediation

Workplace mediation serves as a prompt and effective response to resolve conflicts within an organization. It is a cost-effective way for dispute resolution before issues fester into larger problems or grievances.

Mediation creates bridges, restores relationships, and improves productivity. It can occur at any level of seniority and involves small to large groups.

Specialized Return-to-Work Planning

Integrating mediation expertise with a foundation in former social work practice and disability support.

This is my own craft, where I mediate the terms and conditions as a neutral third party. I work with both the employee and the employer to help injured workers return to work sooner and more efficiently through the creation of comprehensive and solid return-to-work plans.

This work aligns directly with recent updates to WCB return-to-work regulations, introduced in response to historically ineffective planning processes. Because return-to-work situations can often be highly conflictual, the development of clear, comprehensive plans helps reduce conflict while supporting timely and sustainable reintegration for injured workers.

Family Mediation

Mediating family issues is a cost-effective way to resolve separation and divorce concerns related to assets, property, debt division, custody, parenting time, and decisions. As a neutral facilitator, I use an understanding-based approach to help parties resolve conflict and reach a mutually beneficial understanding, putting relationships first over traditional adversarial processes.

Resolution through the court system can often take years and involve significant, and at times overwhelming, financial and emotional costs. These emotional costs are often heightened by time delays and repeated adjournments. Mediation can occur on a timeline that aligns with the parties' availability, offering a more flexible approach to resolving disputes. Even in situations where not all issues are resolved, studies show that individuals who participate in mediation prior to litigation tend to spend less time in court. As a result, mediation can still reduce the overall burden, financial and emotional, making even partial resolution a constructive and worthwhile outcome.

Move Through Conflict, Not Around It

Facing conflict through mediation helps all parties find solutions and move forward. Whether it is a workplace dispute or family concern, I am here to help you find a path to resolution.
